Clark County could be the first county in Nevada to ban pet stores from obtaining animals to sell from puppy mills.
The ordinance would require stores get animals from animal shelters, nonprofit humane societies, or nonprofit animal rescue organizations.
Across the country, almost 200 cities passed similar laws. The cities of North Las Vegas and Mesquite enacted similar ordinances, and Las Vegas will go into effect January next year.
We hope this ordinance will pass, as it will help puppies isolated in shelters find forever homes!
