Dog Brightens Up Classroom While Watching Over Boy With Rare Epilepsy

Dopey, a 4-year-old golden retriever, is known as the “guardian angel” of Room 172 at Sunset Junior High. Even though he’s known to lick some faces and yawn, he’s always there to protect Britton Voss, who is a 12-year-old with special needs.

Dopey offers an alert hours before Britton has an epilepsy attack, and also picks up on other kids about to have seizures while providing comfort to special needs students.

The dog was picked up from Noel’s Dogs Four Hope in Colorado Springs, and Dopey and Britton bonded immediately. Thank you to Dopey for all the work he does!
