Florida Woman Who Tried To Drown Dog Will Not Be Prosecuted

This 71-year-old woman from Florida who attempted to drown her dog last summer will not be charged, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal Reports. However, she won’t be getting her back either.

Marilynne Elsie Jones, says she loved Gracie, her Cavalier King Charles spaniel, who is 11-years-old, and said she would never want Gracie to die.

A report on the incident says that witnesses had to perform CPR on the dog before it could regain consciousness. The State Attorney’s Office later found the witness claims were embellished, but Jones has not been permitted to visit the dog, and was also ordered to pay $1,700 in veterinary bills. Hopefully the dog will live a healthier life in the future, and we all sincerely hope the claims against the woman were false!
