Pennsylvania Children’s Hospital Gets a Full-Time Therapy Dog

2032

The Penn State Children’s Hospital located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, hired the first full-time dog in any children’s hospital in Pennsylvania.

Ashley Kane’s program that brought the dog to the hospital has only been active for about five weeks, but it seems to be a hit with the staff and the patients in the hospital that are battling sometimes critical illnesses. A dog can guide the children through scary parts of their treatments.

The dog is named Kaia, and she helps children happier and become less anxious. We hope Kaia can keep on doing her amazing work!
